Worldcoin developer Tools For Humanity has raised a $115 million Series C investment round
US-based Worldcoin developer Tools For Humanity has raised a $115 million Series C investment round led by Blockchain Capital.
Tools For Humanity was co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania of OpenAI, along with Max Novendstern, for the purpose of the Worldcoin project.
The funding round included both previous investors and new participants such as a16z crypto, Bain Capital Crypto, and Distributed Global.
Tools For Humanity is currently developing tools to support Worldcoin, an Ethereum-based token. Their World ID platform aims to create a digital identity system based on blockchain technology by scanning people's eyes with a small device called an orb. This process ensures that individuals' identity information remains private and secure, leveraging artificial intelligence to prevent the disclosure of personal information on the internet.
